Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji

The 6th Sikh Guru was Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He was born on June 19, 1595, and became the sixth Guru of the Sikh faith. Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji made significant contributions to Sikhism, particularly in establishing the militarization aspect of the Sikh community and promoting the concept of the saint-soldier.

Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji is known for wearing two swords, symbolizing his dual role as both a spiritual leader and a warrior. He emphasized the importance of self-defense and trained his followers in martial arts. Under his guidance, the Sikhs started to form a military tradition and began defending themselves against persecution.
