Guru Arjan Dev Ji

The 5th Sikh Guru was Guru Arjan Dev Ji. He was born on April 15, 1563, and became the fifth Guru of the Sikh faith. Guru Arjan Dev Ji is known for his contributions to Sikhism, including compiling the first version of the Sikh scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib, and overseeing the construction of the Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as the Golden Temple.

One of the most significant achievements of Guru Arjan Dev Ji was the compilation of the Guru Granth Sahib. He collected the hymns and compositions of the first four Gurus, as well as those of other saintly figures, and compiled them into the sacred scripture of Sikhism. Guru Arjan Dev Ji himself composed numerous hymns that are included in the Guru Granth Sahib. He emphasized the importance of spiritual wisdom, equality, and devotion to God in his writings.
