GuruAngad Dev ji

He was born on March 31, 1504, and became the second Guru of the Sikh faith following the teachings and principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Guru Angad Dev Ji was a devoted disciple of Guru Nanak and played a significant role in the spread of Sikhism during his tenure as Guru.

Guru Angad Dev Ji made several important contributions to the Sikh community. He standardized the Gurmukhi script and made it the medium for writing the Punjabi language, which was crucial for preserving and disseminating Sikh scriptures. He also encouraged physical fitness and introduced a system of physical exercises known as “Gatka” to keep the Sikhs physically and mentally strong.
